Student Veterinary Nurse required at Runnymede Hill Veterinary Hospital in Egham, Surrey

The Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a first or second year student veterinary nurse to join our team. We are looking for a confident and enthusiastic first or second year student veterinary nurse who is keen to develop their career in a busy veterinary hospital. This is a full time position including weekend and out of hours work. Working hours are detailed below.

Shifts hours are 7.30am-4pm, 8.30am-5.30pm and 10am-6.30pm
Night shift hours are 5pm-10am (these usually occur once a week)
Weekends are 1 in 6 (8.30am Saturday-4pm Sunday)
Half weekends are 1 in 6 (5pm Friday-1.30pm Saturday)
Days off are given in return for weekends worked the following week
We are looking for someone flexible as we are transitioning our out of hours service to vetsnow as of February and this will bring change to the shifts, night shifts and weekends we work. This can be discussed further at the interview.

About Us
We are a busy, small animal veterinary hospital. We are a RCVS accredited, cat friendly and gold standard hospital. We want our nurses to nurse, we are always open to new ideas from team members to ensure we are providing the best possible care to our patients. Our RVNS and SVNs are encouraged to grow their knowledge and expertise in areas that interest them. CPD is fully encouraged and funding is provided annually.

Applicant Requirements
The successful candidate would be 1st or 2nd year student veterinary nurse. We would encourage students to come in for a trial day to observe how we work within a hospital environment. Some previous experience in ECC would be desirable but not essential. Due to the nature of our work some shifts will include lone working, experience is not essential however, we would like the candidate to be comfortable caring for in-patients on their own.

As a BAME and LGBT+ inclusive employer, we are keen to hear from candidates from all minority and diverse groups.
As a Disability Confident Employer, we are keen to hear from candidates with disabilities and long-term health conditions and would be happy to discuss any reasonable adjustments needed during the recruitment process.
