JR is looking for a Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our client’s team within their modern first-opinion small animal practice with two branches available providing services including routine procedures such as neutering and dental work to advanced BOAS and orthopaedic surgeries, this team pride themselves on providing high-quality care using the latest technology.
First Branch: Is a 2-vet, 3-nurse team serving a variety of patients, including dogs, cats, and small furries. Specialisations include dentistry and ultrasonography, with their head nurse undergoing surgical nursing training.
Second Branch: Is a 24-hour hospital handling complex cases and emergency/critical care. Led by their head vet, a Cambridge BOAS assessor with a passion for bull breeds.
These teams work collaboratively in a supportive and harmonious environment, fostering growth and professional development for all.
The successful candidate will be a fully qualified RVN committed to maintaining high standards of care and a strong communicator and organiser with a team-oriented mindset. You will be dedicated to supporting colleagues and contributing positively to the practice as well as adherent to professional dress code and appearance policies.
You will be responsible for and required to:
- Provide high standards of inpatient care and assist in surgical procedures
- Conduct nurse clinics and ensure effective communication with clients
- Maintain a clean and organised practice environment
- Dispose of clinical waste properly
- Manage stock control and rotation.
- Stay informed about preventative healthcare, product knowledge, and practice policies
- Handle patient admissions and discharges for routine procedures
- Ensure compliance with the RCVS Nursing Code of Conduct and CPD requirements.
This is a permanent, full-time role working 5 days a week Monday – Friday with 1:4 Saturdays and a day off in lieu. However, our client can be flexible and will consider a part-time role (3 or 4 days) for the right candidate so please do let us know your preferences.
