Ellesmere Port, Cheshire, United KingdomAnimal Trust is a fast-growing social enterprise with a team of 200 people who work hard to give the best access to good veterinary care. We’re growing fast and are strengthening our teams so they can help us build a veterinary service that delivers something special to patients, clients and colleagues.
We operate 9 not-for-profit surgeries some a few months old, others much older and vary from 3 - 17 vets and all are growing fast — in the past year, we have treated 40% more pets. Our surgeries are thriving and fast-paced, we have an exceptional caseload and are continually investing — we’re about to install our second CT scanner which is part our commitment to helping our team deliver good accessible care and have a meaningful career.
Our Blackburn surgery continues to expand its delivery of not-for-profit care and they are now recruiting for a Registered Veterinary Nurse to join their social hearted team. By joining our Blackburn surgery you will be part of a close-knit and friendly team who are all proud to work with a vision of measuring by the number of lives saved and not profits made. Our new RVN will be ready to take on the challenge of supporting our 8-Vet team in routine consultations and surgery. With regular advanced procedures taking place every week this is a great opportunity to be exposed to an interesting and varied caseload. Blackburn also works closely with our 24/7 community hospital in Bolton who provide emergency, critical care and advanced imaging services, including CT scanning on a regular basis.
In this role our new team member will also support the daily running of the surgery, this includes but is not limited to;
Caring for in-patients
Supporting vets in surgery (general and advanced)

Communicating with owners, sometimes during distressing times
Reception duties will not be a requirement of this role
We employ the best Vets and Nurses and we all work together to better the lives of sick pets. Our surgeries are well-equipped with the latest technology, and in-house laboratories meaning there is no need for us to refer patients and you can be proud of your working environment.
We’re looking for our new Nurse to be experienced in their field as well as bringing with them a social heart and a refreshing attitude as we all work together to shape the future of veterinary care. It’s essential that you share our vision for developing a not-for-profit service that continues to deliver the best care to our patients and you’ll enjoy working as part of a committed team.
At Animal Trust we’re here to offer something different and we operate a flat management structure. By joining us you’ll be welcomed into our community and encouraged to share your opinions and ideas as we continue to work towards providing the best access to good veterinary care.
We understand that the job can be stressful and so we make your wellbeing a priority. As part of our team, you’ll receive regular 1-1 meetings with your line manager to not only monitor your clinical progress and skill development but also to discuss any challenges that you face in your wellbeing.
