The Role
Village Vets and Meadowbank are looking for a Registered Veterinary Nurse to join their friendly team. Your duties will include day-to-day inpatient care, nurse consultations, anaesthesia and the opportunity to perform minor surgical procedures. We fully encourage our nurses to utilise their skills and support further learning.
We are looking for a full/part-time nurse to work between the hours of 7 am and 8 pm, with the option of 8hr or 10hr shift patterns. All nurses are required to join the 1:7 weekend rota but there is no out-of-hours or on-call.
The salary for this role is up to £25,000 FTE depending on experience.
About Us
We are a forward-thinking, nurse-led first opinion practice with a friendly and supportive team. We do not have an out of hours, however, we do keep our inpatients overnight and have night staff to care for them. We have all the usual toys such as endoscopy, digital x-ray, ultrasound, multiparameter monitors and a visiting CT once a month. We also have a visiting cardiologist once a week and regularly have a visiting specialist ultra-sonographer.
About the Team and Culture
The position available is at our Buckley hospital, however, you may be required to work out of one of our other 3 branches from time to time. Across the group, we have 12 vets, 14 registered veterinary nurses, 2 student veterinary nurses and 2 animal nursing assistants. We have certificate holders in surgery and medicine and vets working towards certs in dentistry and dermatology. Two of our nurses have their VetsNOW ECC, three have their DipAVN, and one is working towards her NCert in nutrition.
Applicant Requirements
Our ideal candidate is a Registered Veterinary Nurse with a full UK driving license. You must have a passion for providing excellent patient and client care. We would prefer someone with at least a year post-grad experience; however, we would consider someone newly qualified. Most important is that you're hardworking and a team player.
