The team is warm, welcoming and supportive with an anything’s possible approach. We are a group of skilled and passionate nurses, working within the team at Pride Veterinary Centre. We work closely with our talented first opinion team as well as specialist referral clinicians from a range of disciplines such as surgery, medicine, anaesthesia ophthalmology and neurology. Despite working within such a big team, we succeed in maintaining a friendly and supportive ethic. We are passionate about providing gold standard of care and as such, all team members receive ongoing support from highly skilled colleagues.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone to lead and develop our hospital nursing team, giving the successful candidate a role, which offers a wide range of new experiences and the chance to support and develop the nursing team. Alongside this there will the opportunity to continuously progress clinical standards whilst directly line managing the senior nurse team members.
We are looking for applicants to have a firm but fair approach, leadership skills and the ability to build positive relationships with other teams in the hospital. Responsibilities will includes tasks such as clinical development of team and areas, providing appropriate nurse cover, ongoing development of procedures, active role in maintaining practice standards, coaching and mentoring. This highly skilled team have a lot to offer, and we are looking for a leader to promote and support them to provide a continuously improving service to our patients and colleagues. You would be required to work 44.50 hours per week, shifts on a rota basis, 1:6 weekends, as well as one/two bank holidays per year. You will also be required to do night cover/on call cover pro rata.
Required skills and experience:
1. Qualified RVN
2. Managerial experience or qualification
3. Excellent communication and organisation skills
4. An interest in developing others
