We are working with an independently owned small animal practice in Derby that is looking for a friendly and confident Registered Veterinary Nurse to join them on a full-time permanent basis. Our client is a small animal independently owned RCVS accredited practice based in Derby which has been offering personal care for our clients and their pets for over 30 years and enjoys an established reputation of excellence in all aspects of veterinary medicine. They strive to form a lasting partnership with clients and to utilise a teamwork approach to deliver the highest quality care to their pets.
The clinic is fully kitted-out with all the latest equipment, including digital x-ray, ultrasound, in-house laboratory, and much more. In addition to leading facilities, the practice boasts an established, tight-knit nursing team as well as an experienced reception team to help make every day run as smoothly as possible.

The Role and Candidate:
Our client is looking for a permanent full-time qualified Veterinary Nurse to work with their team of 8 nurses. The 40 hours per week rota includes one in five weekends but no out of hours. You will be working in an extremely supportive and sympathetic environment with continuous help from both their team of vets and nurses. You would be expected to provide a high level of nursing care, be competent in all routine procedures, and also be a good communicator.
You will be a valued member of the team which operates to a very high standard and you can expect to:
Run nurse clinics
Carry out laboratory work
Carry out the discharge of surgical cases
Perform post-op consultations
Place IV catheters and obtain blood samples
Carry out blood pressure checks
Assist in interesting surgical procedures
Monitor and provide treatment to overnight and day patients
Triage and assist with emergency procedures
You will be working shifts patterns of 8 hours that vary between 08:00-16:00 and 11:30 to 19:30, and weekend shifts are 09:00-17:00 Saturdays.
