Pride Veterinary Centre - Referral Specialists

Tom Edmondson

Derby, Derbyshire, United Kingdom

The Role

If you are a qualified registered veterinary nurse who is seeking variety in your career then we have the perfect opportunity for you. Supporting the theatre team by delivering and monitoring prescribed anaesthesia/sedation for referral patients from the surgical, neurology, ophthalmology, and medicine disciplines, you will be an integral team member. We use multi-parameter monitors to monitor our patients under anaesthesia, reporting any problems to the specialist anaesthetists. Other than anaesthesia we also take on a circulating theatre nurse role. This involves preparing each theatre for surgery with the correct equipment, preparing the patient and personnel for theatre, maintaining sterility during surgery, and assisting with theatre equipment. All our theatre nurses are highly skilled due to the in-depth training available.

About Us

Pride Veterinary Centre offers a range of state-of-the-art equipment and facilities. Our diagnostics and treatments are second to none and we have many highly trained and experienced colleagues to ensure that our patients receive the very best treatment.

We strive to deliver world class patient care and our fantastic facilities provide a superb care environment, including 13 consultation rooms, 7 hospital wards, 5 theatres, full advanced imaging suite, 3 ultrasound rooms, an endoscopy suite, hydrotherapy pool and treadmills and dedicated chemo and radio-iodine treatment rooms.

We are a group of skilled and passionate Veterinary Nurses, working within the theatre team at Pride Veterinary Centre. We work closely with specialist referral clinicians from a range of disciplines such as surgery, medicine, ophthalmology, exotics, and neurology. Day to day, we work especially closely with the anaesthetists, providing anaesthesia and sedation for other services. Despite working within such a big team, we succeed in maintaining a friendly and supportive ethic. We are passionate about providing gold standard care and as such, all team members receive ongoing support from highly skilled colleagues in both theatre and anaesthesia.
