Exciting position – Southdown Veterinary Group – Head Nurse Maternity cover 

Southdown Veterinary Group are looking for a Head Nurse to cover maternity leave. This is an exciting developmental role allowing progression within a stable and supportive team.

The role includes normal nursing duties including anaesthesia, nurse appointments and general nursing, including admin time for rota planning, team support and development.

This role is suitable for someone with excellent clinical standards, who is a clinical coach and can provide support and leadership for the nursing and care assistant team. This role also includes line management of a small reception team.

You will be supported by the management team and Practice Director to encourage you to fulfill your goals and lead the nursing team effectively. There is opportunity to be involved with clinical governance, protocol setting and improving clinical standards, and this is fully supported.

We are a forward thinking practice, with positive and friendly staff looking for someone like minded to join our team, with support from our current head nurse. This role is an exciting opportunity for someone to step into a management role, and someone looking to further their career.

The Southdown group comprises of two similar sized sites, with a team of RVN, SVN and PCA support and will involve some travel between both sites. Our sites have theatres, lab's, dental and kennel facilities, and all of the equipment you would expect from a general practice.

We are looking for a full time 40hr/week person to join us to support the team.
