We have an exciting opportunity for a Registered Veterinary Nurse to join us at 1066 Veterinary Centre! The role involves all aspects of first opinion Veterinary Nursing, including theatre work, dentistry, in-patient care, nurse clinics, dispensary and a small amount of reception work. We aim to provide you with a varied working day with maximum exposure. Responsibilities will include stock management, health and safety and a great opportunity to gain experience with assisting student nurse training.
With are lucky enough to be flexible with the working day, as a result, shift patterns are variable and can be 8 hours for 5 days a week or 10 hours for four days a week, plus a Saturday morning on a roster. There are no out-of-hours, on-call or bank holiday cover requirements, providing a great work-life balance.
The salary for the role is up to £24,000 per annum depending on experience.
We are a small but busy practice located in St. Leonards-on Sea. We have a digital x-ray, ultrasound, dedicated theatre suite and separate kennels and cattery. We have a full team of registered veterinary nurses, student veterinary nurses and receptionists, several of who have been with the practice for many years. We opened in 2009 and have grown rapidly through recommendations from clients.
We are close to the sea, with its long promenade, and the local town has many historic sites, outdoor activities and a variety of restaurants. There is a thriving arts scene and several festivals are held each year, including seafood and wine, Jack in the Green, bonfire night and the annual Mayday bike run for thousands of motorbikes who descend on the town. We work with a couple of local charities and are part of the RSPCA Neutering Scheme for cats and bull-breeds.
About the Team and Culture
We currently have 3 Veterinary surgeons, 1 who is a cardiology certificate holder. 4 registered veterinary nurses, 1 student nurse and 3 support team members. We have a supportive and encouraging family-like culture at 1066 Veterinary Centre. We aim to highlight individual interests and provide as much opportunity for you to gain exposure to this during practice.
We are looking for an experienced, qualified RVN to help with the day-to-day running of the practice. Candidates must be confident with their nursing skills and able to use their initiative as well as be part of a team. Leadership skills are desirable as well as the ability to multi-task or adapt to sudden changes.
