Carlton Professional Recruitment Ltd

Megan Wakawaka

Glamorgan, United Kingdom

CARDIFF – Our client is looking for 2 RVNs to join their growing team! They have an excellent team of highly qualified RVNs, trainee nurses and indispensable support staff, all constantly striving to provide the best possible care to patients, clients and each other. The entire team is respected, nurtured and listened to.

They are looking for caring, devoted team players with drive, enthusiasm and motivation to further your own knowledge and theirs. You should have great communication skills and be passionate about pet advocacy.

They have 5 sites across Cardiff and surrounding areas. All the sites are fully equipped with a wide range of modern therapies and technologies including ultrasound, digital x-ray, digital dental x-ray and access to shared radiosurgery units. This allows the branches to be fully self-sufficient to work up and treat their own cases with the 24/7 support of their hospital. The hospital provides state of the art facilities such as CT, endoscopy and endo-surgery (keyhole), orthopaedic and soft tissue surgery, exotics referrals, medical referrals, dedicated dog, cat, exotic and ICU wards and a physiotherapy department including hydrotherapy. They are also on track to launch a radioactive iodine unit very soon; the first of its kind in Wales!

The 2 RVNs will be based at their Hospital.

1st RVN
The first Nurse will be joining the nursing team in general duties throughout the hospital with a rota split between inpatient care, surgery, medicine, anaesthesia and nurse consultations. There may also be potential for this nurse to assist in the exotics department as the service continues to expand. Their hospital nurses work 40hrs over a 5 day week, as well as 1:4 Saturday mornings at the branch surgeries.

2nd RVN
This Nurse will have a surgical nursing bias – having a split role between the orthopaedic surgery team and general nursing duties. Their orthopaedic department has developed significantly since the hospital site opened, and the team require dedicated support to ensure it can continue to grow and thrive. The orthopaedic department is supported by their on-site physiotherapist and hydrotherapists. The surgical nursing role would be able to accommodate a 4 day week rota if desired.

What’s on offer?
• Salary dependent on experience
• Workplace Pension
• Health benefit scheme
• £500 CPD and 3 days CPD allowance
• 20 days (pro rata) of bookable annual leave
• RCVS/VDS fees paid
• Company sick pay scheme
