The role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Head Veterinary Nurse to join our wonderful team at Medivet Fortis Green.
This is a clinical leadership role with the opportunity to grow and develop management skills while seeing a varied range of clinical cases.
We fully support our nurses in completing certificates to further their knowledge, and offer supportive, engaging career pathways. Our dedicated learning platform provides collective support with tips and tricks across the whole of Medivet and online learning which you can manage at your own pace.

Salary, hours and benefits:
- £32,500
- £750 CPD allowance with 2-days CPD leave and in-house CPD available
- RCVS and VDS fees paid
- 5 weeks paid annual leave (equivalent to 22.7 days) plus bank holidays

Key accountabilities
In this role you will assist with financial and operational performance of your practice as well as the overall team performance and engagement.
You'll take pride in the delivery of exceptional clinical quality and care, encouraging a progressive clinical culture. And, ensure Medivet policies and procedures are implemented and adhered to by all of your team.
You'll work closely with the Lead Vet as well as our wider teams to ensure the general smooth running of your practice, from Practice Standards to Health & Safety, and ensure things such as debt is managed and controlled, and any complaints are dealt with appropriately.
As a Head Nurse and Clinical Coach, you will develop and support your direct reports, holding one to ones and providing regular feedback on their performance. Taking action to create a positive environment that results in stable retention for your branch.

We have a fantastic, well-rounded team led by our Branch Partner, Rayyan with support from our second vet, Hela.
Rayyan has a keen interest in Ophthalmology and hopes to begin her certificate soon while Hela is working towards her certificate in General Practice. We also have three fantastic Veterinary Care Assistants, Lottie, Kim and Maria.
The team enjoy working together and appreciate a good laugh along the way making time in practice a fun one too!
The practice has a fully equipped theatre plus digital x-ray and dental machine, with an internal lab soon and access to CT/MRI at our nearby Hendon 24-Hour Hospital.
