The Role
Crown Vets, Inverness is looking for a registered veterinary nurse to join their team. Working across three practices within Inverness, you will join the rest of the team working in rotation providing nurse consultations and peri-operative nursing. The consultations include the standard paediatric weigh & worming, post-operative checks, microchipping etc. In addition to the usual appointments, our nurses have the freedom to create and deliver targeted appointments such as: weight management, geriatric cat consults (silver whiskers), behavioural and desensitisation and many more. Whatever your passion is, we will encourage you.
We have four surgical theatres, and you will be involved in a wide variety of surgeries. We are always looking to develop our nurses in areas of their interest and are happy to support you through courses to enhance your skills. For working out of hours you will be compensated with long weekends.
Rota
Working up to 40 hours per week across 5days (full time basis, part time can be considered)
Shifts are between 8am to 8pm Monday to Thursday, 8am to 6pm Friday and 8am to 4pm on a Saturday,
OOH once a week or once and fortnight,
1:9 weekends on call and the other is a hospital weekend for any remaining inpatients.
Salary
Up to £27,000 depending on experience.
Relocation allowance of up to £5,000
About Us
Crown Vets Inverness comprises of three practices. We have Argyle Street which is a busy practice with four consult rooms and three theatres. Culloden has two consult rooms and one theatre, finally Canalside, where we have two consult rooms. We have lots of great equipment including multiparameter for all surgery, ADE, Doppler, clean and dirty ops theatres, separate dog, cat and isolation kennels plus much more and most recently a top of the range digital Xray. All of this allows us to offer a comprehensive service to our clients. Inverness is a great place to live and our practices are based in areas that allow you to get out at lunchtime, whether its shopping, a walk in the woods or a peaceful walk down the canal. The airport here has great connections to the rest of the UK and a few places in Europe. About the Team
We have 14 vets, 12 nurses, 3 VCAs and we also have a dedicated dispenser. We have a large team of experienced support staff, covering reception and office work that work across the three practices to keep the practice running smoothly. We have a Medicine certificate holder, and two vets working towards Medicine and Surgery certs. We are lucky to also have in our group a Referral Practice that covers orthopaedic, soft tissue, dermatology and pain management, giving us the opportunity to easily refer, they are going to be in our forth practice later this year that will be fitted out with all the latest equipment including a CT scanner which our first opinion clients will have direct access to.
