An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our team here at Lawrie Veterinary Group, Cumbernauld!
We are a busy 1st opinion and exotic pet referral clinic. Duties and responsibilities involve assisting Veterinary Surgeons, laboratory work, performing consultations, medical nursing of inpatients, monitoring anaesthesia and preparing and assisting in surgical procedures.
The role will involve working Mon-Fri including some weekend shifts - generally 1:6 (Saturday 8am-1pm, Sunday 8am-11am) - following Friday off. No out of hours. Salary for the role is between £24,000-£28,000 depending on experience.
We are a fully equipped vet practice including radiography and endoscopy and we are able to hospitalise and treat all exotic pets. Ideal transport links as central location, generous onsite parking. We have six full-time Veterinary Surgeons, 7 full-time Registered Veterinary Nurses and 4 members who make up our administration team. Our team are versatile and happy to welcome new members.
Two of our vets hold certificates in exotic medicine and three of our nurses currently hold certificates in nursing exotic species. More of our nurses hold various certificates in dog behaviour, cat behaviour and bereavement counselling. We encourage and fund CPD to allow our team to develop and grow.
Must be a RVN, newly qualified will also be welcomed. Experience and an interest in exotics pets is preferred, however, support and training will be provided.
