The role

Medivet are seeking a Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our Horsford branch on a part time basis. You will be a motivated and friendly individual with a strong passion for animal care and welfare.

The ideal candidate will enjoy working as part of a busy team and possess the confidence to work alone when required. You will have a flexible and adaptable approach to work and be happy to get stuck in wherever needed. The successful candidate will be responsible for a variety of nursing duties as well as sharing best practice and valuable peer support to our Student Veterinary Nurses and Patient Care Assistants. 

This role would suit someone looking to expand their exotics knowledge and caseload whilst still being exposed to a busy yet varied small animal caseload.

The ideal candidate must have a keen interest in exotics, previous experience with exotics would be beneficial but not essential.

The role is working 24 hours per week over 3 days, plus 1 in 4 weekends. Also, you will be required to take part in on-call and bank holiday shifts that are divided fairly amongst all team members.

Salary and Benefits

Salary up to £14,739 per annum, dependent on experience

£300 CPD allowance, 2-days CPD leave per annum pro rata and in-house CPD available 

Ongoing training is provided as relevant to your role

RCVS and BVA fees paid

25 days annual leave plus bank holidays per annum pro rata

Medivet Horsford is set in a spacious practice that comes fully equipped with separate dog, cat & exotics wards, endoscopy, digital x-ray, dental x-ray and holds a cat friendly status. Along with our expertise in all furry creatures, we have a special interest in the treatment of exotic pets. Our specialist equipment enables us to provide a high standard of care for all our patients, including smaller ultrasound probes, endoscopy systems, a dedicated exotics ward and special dentistry equipment and instruments for smaller patients.

The practice is situated just outside the beautiful city of Norwich, offering a wealth of historic buildings, one of the finest Cathedrals in England and a magnificent castle overlooking the City. The countryside is on our doorstep and we are a stone’s throw away from the Norfolk Broads and the Norfolk Coastline, giving you the perfect opportunity to explore.
