Ipswich, Suffolk, United KingdomWe are looking for a Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our team! The role is manageably busy with a variety of first opinion cases, assisting vets to the maximum potential of experience as well as running Nurse Clinics. One of the many diagnostic tools available is the Laser, which is under the direct responsibility of the RVN. Sharing cases and workload with several RVN colleagues who have been with the practice across many years between them, each with a diverse range of experience. Using facilities have been upgraded significantly over recent years. This is a full time position working 5 days per week plus 1 in 6 Saturday mornings. No OOH.
The practice has been established for over 170 years and has kept up with the times. The main building is Grade 11 Listed on the High Street of the medieval town of Hadleigh in beautiful South Suffolk which is a peaceful place to work. Facilities have been upgraded to state of the art over the past ten years including ultrasound, endoscopy, laser, digital X-Ray developer, Idexx blood testing equipment, as well as the usual day to day diagnostic tools. The multi-parameter monitor is in regular use.
A team of six nurses and 5 FTE vets (one an ultrasound Certificate holder, another a very experienced orthopaedic surgeon) with excellent support staff. All are flexible and team players, with the common goal of firstly, looking after the client's pets and also helping and supporting each other. The Practice takes part in the annual 180 year old Hadleigh Farmers' Show. There is mutual respect for all, the philosophy being that everyone’s role is equally important, each simply has different responsibilities.
Ideally post qualification experience but equally suited to someone who has just qualified and wants a fresh start in a different practice. A background in first opinion small animal work is essential. You will be enthusiastic to learn more, take on responsibility and want to build on current knowledge.
