We are looking for an enthusiastic Registered Veterinary Nurse who is passionate about animal welfare to take the lead in our nurse clinics.
The successful candidate will be able to make the role their own and offer a fantastic variety of services to our lovely clients. We would like to offer all routine services such as 2nd vaccines, nail clips, post-operative checks, 6-month puppy and kitten checks and regular injection administering, and then to build up more in-depth consultations such as weight clinics, K-laser, diabetic clinics, geriatric consultations etc.
You will work 10-hour shifts across 4 days per week, you will be part of the bank holiday rota, however, there is no weekend work!
The salary for this role is up to £26,000 depending on experience.
The position is based at our hospital in Halesowen, located in the West Midlands on the outskirts of Birmingham. We have great transport links into Birmingham city centre, which is approximately 6 miles away, and are lucky enough to have some beautiful rural areas near too such as Kinver, Clent Hills and the Lickey Hills.
Our large modern practice has 5 consultation rooms (one of which is specifically for the nurses) 2 theatres, a large preparation room, an x-ray suite, a CT suite, a recovery ward, separate dog, cat and exotic wards, a dental suite, isolation, and offices to allow admin work to be completed away from clinical areas. We have an ultrasound, K-laser, Endoscopy, and access to MRI to allow us to offer a wide range of services to our clients. At our Hospital, we have 3-5 vets working per day and certificate holders in multiple disciplines (surgery, medicine, cardiology, exotic species, ophthalmology and ECC).
About the Team and Culture
Manor Vets is built up of 24 Vets, 25 Registered Veterinary Nurses, 5 Student Veterinary Nurses, 11 Veterinary Auxiliaries, 17 receptionists, 4 admin staff and a team of 6 managers, each one a vital part of our team. We have certificate holders across our practices in various disciplines which allows us to keep a large and varied caseload in-house.
Our vision for the consulting nurse role is to improve the services we offer to clients, to free up much-needed vet availability and to improve the client/practice bond.
As a practice, we support various local charities, and this makes up some of our caseloads.
We hope to employ an RVN with varied experience in all aspects of nursing but with a passion for patient care, client care and nurse consultations. With this in mind, we are looking for a personable, empathetic, and hardworking RVN to complement our wonderful team.
