About the role:
Due to the continued expansion and success of our nursing team at Swift Referrals, we have created new roles for 2 Lead Night RVNs to join our dedicated OOH and ECC team. We are in search of passionate, confident and knowledgeable veterinary nurses who are keen to progress into a leadership position within a busy referral & emergency hospital. We pride ourselves on championing high-quality nursing and are true advocates for supporting personal growth and clinical development for our entire nursing team.
The shift times are 7.30pm-8.30am, and we are ideally looking for someone who can commit to a full-time position which would be 3 nights during the week, plus some weekend support on a rota basis. We are committed to providing industry-leading salaries for our RVNs, which will be circa £19.00/hr dependent on experience.
Our Lead Night RVN will be able to demonstrate exceptional communication skills by regularly liaising efficiently and openly with the Head Nurse, to share relevant feedback and maintain a positive working relationship. Our successful candidate will have experience and confidence in a lead role, and will be tasked with the following responsibilities:
- Provide training, support and guidance to all members of the nursing team
- Probation and annual performance reviews
- Motivating and managing a large nursing team
- Creating, assessing and implementing SOPs
- Maintaining the highest possible standards of patient care
- Provide support to the Head Nurse with additional tasks such as rota and holiday management
Our emergency team provides OOH care to our referral inpatients, as well as first opinion emergency cases that come in overnight and stay with us for the duration of their care. The clinical aspect of the role would be perfectly suited to RVNs who enjoy the variety of OOHs work and would thrive in a role where they can focus on nursing critical patients within our large, purpose-built intensive care unit. This is not a sole charge position, and you will work your night shifts within a team of clinicians, RVNs and ACAs.
If you are looking for a role where you can develop your leadership and clinical skills in a well-supported, close knit team environment whilst working with a complex and diverse caseload, we would love to hear from you today!
