Leeds, West Yorkshire, United KingdomWe are recruiting for a permanent clinical nurse manager to join a 24-hour animal hospital in Leeds. This is a full-time position however it will not involve the candidate working as a nurse.
This role is varied, and they require someone with previous experience in a management position, with strong organisational skills and someone who is passionate about motivating and training team members.
There are various aspects of the role include:
Organising the nursing rota – dealing with locums and annual leave, sickness etc
Conducting nurse appraisals, training and development
Providing a supporting role to all nurses, leading from the front and motivating staff
Organise and facilitate all meetings, both in house, clinical coach meetings CPD events etc
Plan and assist with nursing CPD
Control and develop stock protocols
Ensure compliance and the adherence to day to day SOPS
Ensure all equipment with the practice is compliant
Develop inhouse training programmes for nurses
Assist and work closely with the management team, HR and client service managers running a 24/7 Hospital – ensuring all shifts, OOH / ECC are covered for the area of 15 sites in total
Details on the position:
This is a full-time role working 40 hours per week Monday – Friday. There is a weekend rota required as 1:3 which comprises of Saturday and Sunday 15 Hours. The role will involve shifts during the week which may start at 7.30 am or finish late at 8pm.
There is a large team of veterinary staff and supporting colleagues across the hospital and the 15 sites within the area. They require someone with previous experience in management so if you have experience working as a nurse manager in a busy veterinary environment and are looking to take on more responsibility within a large organisation then please get in touch. It is important that all applicants understand that this role is classed as management as opposed to a veterinary nurse position due to the HR demands of the role.

You will have strong leadership skills with previous experience in a management position
Happy to work in a management role – split between 80% management and 20% clinical
You will have previous experience in teaching and supporting clinical teams
You will show support, mentor, and train existing nursing staff to ensure clinical nursing development and the maintenance of clinical standards.
You will work to deliver a high standard of clinical care and have a can-do attitude!

You will have excellent communications skills and be able to develop working relationships with clients and fellow members of staff across the sites

Salary: £30,000 per annum
Holiday allowance: 5.6 weeks which increase to 6.6 after 2 years’ service and Birthdays off
