Clayton Le Dale, Blackburn, United KingdomThe Role
The role would initially be based at any of our branches on a rota basis with allocated surgical time at either one of our surgical branches or the main hospital. The working week is 5 days, and the day is generally 09.30-18.00. If you are on the first call weekend rota you would receive TOIL the week before and after. The nights are on a 1 in 12 basis and our out of hours rota is 1 in 6. Although initially we can offer 1 in 4 weekends with 1 in 12 nights, second on call, for candidates that need initial support. This support rota will then change to 1 in 6. We have designed the rota to allow a good work life balance and enable those with families to be able to maintain their emergency work.
Here at My Vets we are a busy Small Animal only, multibranch practice in the heart of Lancashire. We have 16 branches which are either consulting only or have operating facilities. We have a large Vet team with a mixture of new graduates and experienced clinicians. We actively encourage certificate study and currently have cert holders in Surgery, Ophthalmology, Internal Medicine and Dermatology. We have in house CT, ultrasound, ECG, endoscopy and extensive in-house laboratory. All surgical branches have access to Idexx machines.
This role would suit either a new graduate or someone looking to move forward with their career. We are used to mentoring and developing new graduates to a high standard. An interest in consulting and client care would be advantageous. We would prefer someone to already be RCVS registered. A good team working ability and good communication skills are essential.
