Day and twilight night Veterinary Surgeon
The Role
We have a fantastic opportunity for a combined day and twilight night Veterinary Surgeon to join our team. If you are looking for a role that will challenge you and give you the opportunity to develop your emergency and critical care skills as well as being supported during the day, then this role is for you.
You will be working in an enriching environment as part of both our Emergency Veterinary Service (EVS) and our outstanding first opinion group. You will use your clinical skills to provide a high standard of emergency and out-of-hours care to a wide variety of cases along with working as part of our day team who excel in providing exceptional Veterinary Care.
Our dedicated 24-hour hospital means we can keep a majority of our patients on-site for the duration of their treatment. During your twilight week, you will provide the essential support for the transition between day and night teams, accepting patient transfers and emergencies. You will be supported by the team of experienced Night Veterinary Surgeons and you will not only care for our hospitalised in-patients but also those from our Referral department who excel in a variety of disciplines (including Medicine, Ophthalmology, Soft Tissue, Oncology, Orthopaedics, Neurology, and Dentistry).
This role incorporates both day and twilight hours. Over a 3-week period you will work one block of 5 twilight shifts 5PM-1AM Wednesday to Sunday and 8 weekday rota shifts, so on average you work a 40-hour week. On your daytime rota weeks, you can expect an early finish as part of your 4 days. Your salary for the block of twilight shifts is calculated at a higher rate than your daytime salary.
However, the role is flexible and we would welcome conversations about a rota that would suit you.
The salary for this role is up to £55,000 (FTE) depending on experience.
