The Role
We have a great opportunity for an experienced surgically biased Vet to join us to experience an interesting and varied case load in a supportive and collaborative hospital environment.
We are looking for someone who will thrive in a bustling hospital environment as part of a large friendly team; however, we appreciate that work-life balance is a priority for our staff. Over the last few years, we have been proactive in creating a positive, supportive workplace. We have made several changes to ensure Vets get their lunch breaks and leave on time these include employing twilight Vets, removing the last consult of the day, structuring the rota to allow for admin time, and driving a culture that challenges those who stay beyond their finish time rather than championing it.
The rota will include working 40 hours per week over 4 days with a fixed day off. The weekends are 1 in 8 and there is no on-call.
The salary for this role is up to £65,000 depending on experience.
About Us
Our team has a big focus on coaching and development in the hospital and we are looking for someone who enjoys developing others. We encourage personal development (including funding certificates where desired). We encourage a collaborative working culture where we can share ideas and support each other. Several of our vets have Certificates in medicine and surgery, whilst others are currently working towards them. We enjoy supporting our new graduates and have EMS students on a regular basis enabling us to give back to the veterinary community.
Our tier 3 RCVS accredited hospital provides excellent facilities including digital x-ray, dental x-ray, CT, MRI, ultrasound, endoscopy, and more. We pride ourselves on clinical excellence whilst also providing a patient-appropriate compassionate service for our clients. You will join a well-established team of 10 other Veterinary Surgeons, a strong, experienced nursing team, and a fantastic support team.
Applicant Requirements
The ideal candidate would have experience working in a busy first opinion hospital and would be looking to build on their surgical abilities as part of a large and collaborative team. They would possess or be working towards their small animal surgical certificate or have significant previous practical experience. We are looking for someone to work alongside our current surgical lead expanding and developing the services Rowe can offer.
