JR is seeking a Twilight Veterinary Surgeon to join our client’s 24-hour Tier 3 hospital in Bristol. This is an excellent opportunity for a vet passionate about emergency and out-of-hours (OOH) care. This twilight role is structured to work 1 out of every 3 weeks, making it a unique opportunity for those seeking a work-life balance while still engaging in challenging veterinary work. The role involves providing high-standard emergency and OOH care, supporting the night vet with overnight in-patient care, and managing a variety of emergency cases. You will be essential in bridging the day and night teams, ensuring continuity of care. You will be part of a dedicated and hardworking team that specializes in emergency care. The twilight shift is critical in ensuring seamless care transitions. The hospital is equipped with advanced diagnostic and treatment tools, including digital X-ray, CT, MRI, blood pressure monitoring, ECG, an on-site laboratory, dental X-ray, and ultrasound. These resources allow you to deliver top-tier patient care and manage complex cases effectively. The team is focused on providing exceptional client and patient care, with a strong emphasis on clinical excellence. You will be caring for patients hospitalised by the Referral department across multiple disciplines, including Ophthalmology, Soft Tissue, Oncology, Orthopaedics, Neurology, and Dentistry. This exposure provides a broad spectrum of cases, enhancing your expertise in emergency and critical care. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to clinical excellence and a passion for providing high-quality care in emergency settings, excellent teamwork skills, as you will be working closely with both the twilight and night teams to ensure smooth transitions and consistent patient care, while emergency care experience is beneficial, a genuine enthusiasm for learning and growing in this area is equally important. This role is ideal for a vet who is passionate about emergency care and looking for a role that offers both professional challenge and a great work-life balance. This is a permanent, part-time role working 2 x 8 hour shifts every 3 weeks 5pm – 1am. This role would suit someone with experience of ECC work or someone wishing to pursue an interest in ECC within a fully supported environment.
