Dick White Referrals
Six Mile Bottom, Cambridgeshire, United KingdomDevelop your career with DWR and be part of something special!
Founded in 2003 by Professor Dick White, DWR has grown rapidly to become the largest private veterinary referral hospital in the UK, currently with over 300 employees. DWR is a busy, purpose-built specialist referral-only small animal veterinary hospital conveniently located in Cambridgeshire between Newmarket, the home of horse racing and Cambridge, with its world-renowned University and amenities.
The hospital is fully equipped with the surgical, diagnostic and hospitalisation facilities commensurate with a flagship specialist veterinary hospital and also has an on-site reference laboratory with both in-house clinical pathology and diagnostic histopathology. As part of our on-going drive for excellence, we have a new building underway onsite that will double the size of our facilities and create a truly world-class hospital.
We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and driven individual to join our growing Ophthalmology Team.
The team currently consists of two ECVO Diplomates, one residency-trained Clinical Fellow, three ECVO Residents, one Intern and three Nurses. This position will begin as an Internship but has the potential for promotion to an ECVO Residency dependent on performance. The applicant will have experience of working in general practice and have a tangible track record of their passion for veterinary Ophthalmology. A postgraduate qualification in Ophthalmology would be extremely useful but is not essential.
The successful applicant will need to hold a UK valid current driving licence and be a member of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (MRCVS), whilst also having the right to work in UK (UK or EU citizenship, or with valid UK working VISA for the duration of the internship). If not of English mother language, candidates must have good knowledge of spoken and written English, preferably certified by examination.
As you would expect from one of the largest veterinary referral centres in Europe, we offer an inspiring and friendly working environment together with career development opportunities and an attractive benefits package.
If you share our passion for delivering excellence, trust and care then we would love to hear from you.
The application for this position should include 1) a letter of intent justifying suitability for the position, reasons for pursuing an internship (and residency) and for choosing DWR 2) curriculum vitae 3) contact details of two referees who have direct knowledge of the candidate’s skills and past clinical experience.
Applications should be submitted to the Head of Ophthalmology, James Oliver, via e-mail on: firstname.lastname@example.org by 10th July 2020.
