The Role
Here at Birch Veterinary Centre we are looking for a Veterinary Surgeon to join our team on a fixed term contract with the potential to make it permanent for the right candidate. Our team are very supportive and love to discuss cases and a collaborative approach is encouraged. Our nursing team have a wealth of experience. The role will involve a mix of operating and consultations with 15-minute as standard, longer if required. There will be a dedicated operating morning each week with the potential for more surgery time if this is your area of interest.
The rota involves working 40 hours per week over 4.5 days. The 3 full days is 8:30am-6:30pm, 1 early finish being from 8:30am-4:00pm and 1 half day from 8:30am-1:00pm. 2 in 5 Saturday Mornings alongside 2 other Vets. There are no Sundays, bank holidays or out of hours with this role. Part-time applications will be considered.
The salary will be up to £55,000 depending on experience.
About Us
We are based in Oxton on the Wirral with easy reach to Liverpool and Chester as well as great beaches and countryside. Our main practice is in Oxton and we have 2 smaller satellite consult-only branches. At Oxton we have 5 consult rooms, a dedicated pharmacy, digital x-ray, ultrasound, and cautery.
We currently have 7 Veterinary Surgeons, 6 Registered Veterinary Nurses, 1 Student Veterinary Nurse, 2 Animal Care Assistants, 2 Receptionists and 1 Practice Manager. Our Vets have 1 Surgery certificate, 2 Medicine certs, 1 medicine cert which is almost finished and 1 Nurse with an anesthesia cert.

We are Ideally looking for a Veterinary Surgeon with an interest in Surgery. The candidate must be a team player and someone who will fit into a well-established and friendly team!
