Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon J158710

£35000.00 - £60000.00 per Annum
Wonderful opportunity to join a 15+ Vet, multi-site practice in beautiful County Durham. No OOH, 1 in 6 weekends, highly competitive package and plenty of development and freedom to follow your clinical interests!
With the practice situated in the bustling market town of Bishop Auckland, just a short drive away from Durham, this would be an ideal location for those looking to live within minutes of beautiful countryside and green spaces. Although Middlesbrough, Durham, Newcastle, Darlington and Sunderland are all close by for city amenities!
The practice itself consists of a main site and two smaller satellite branches. This role is to be based primarily out of the larger, main site with rare cover at the smaller sites (which are both a short drive away).
The main site is very well equipped with all the usual toys as well as video endoscopy, laparoscopic equipment, digital/dental x-ray, and excellent ultrasound machine. There are plenty of high spec theatres and consult rooms, separate cat, dog and small furry wards, and a large prep area with a CT scanner on its way in the new year.
There are currently over 15 Vets within the team across all three sites with multiple certificates holders in surgery (soft tissue and orthopaedics), medicine, and imaging. The team all love sharing their knowledge so this is an excellent practice to develop your skills as a vet. Although the team is highly skilled, no one is protective over their case load so you would have plenty of scope to get involved with interesting cases.
- This role is for a 4-day week with a split between consulting and surgery. However, there is scope to tweak the role to accommodate any medical/surgical bias
- The practice sees a wide variety of exciting and challenging cases, with advanced surgeries regularly carried out
- Weekends are only 1 in 6, and you would only work 2 days during the week when doing a weekend, so it is a consistent 4 day working week
Package and Benefits
- Salary from £32,000 - £65,000
- 5 weeks holiday plus bank holidays
- £1,750 CPD allowance and further support for certificates readily available
- Health Shield benefits scheme
- Professional fees paid
