We are an RCVS accredited, SA first opinion practice in the heart of old Welwyn village and we are seeking another Vet to join our growing team!
Mimram Veterinary Centre is in a beautiful part of Hertfordshire. The practice itself has an intriguing history – it has previously been a butchers, police station & offices. We have since created a modern, proactive practice, ready to serve our loyal clientele that has been well-established since we opened in 1999. As well as RCVS accreditation, we also have IFSM’s Silver Cat Friendly Status.
We are a 5 vet practice (4FTE), with a highly supportive and talented nursing team to support (who are encouraged to utilise their skills fully).
We have the usual equipment including ultrasound, digital x-ray, dental x-ray, capnography and tonometry.
About the role
The role consists of a mix of consults and surgeries of our varied first opinion caseload, with time set aside admin. We pride ourselves on providing the highest standards of care to our clients. Our routine appointments last 15 minutes, (30 minutes for complex cases) with several 30-minute ‘open on the day’ appointments for emergencies and urgent cases throughout the day. Confidence with routine procedures and consultations is required.
The rota
The position is ideally a full-time, 40-hour week. This is currently across 4 set days, with a fixed day off, however if you prefer working 5 shorter days this can be accommodated. Saturday mornings are currently also only 1:5 potentially up to 1:6 depending on team numbers, in the full-time role with a 4 day week there is the addition of having 1:6 Fridays off, too! Part-time would be considered for the right candidate.
