An exciting opportunity has become available for a Veterinary Surgeon at Myerscough Veterinary Group! You will work between our Southport and Hesketh Bank sites carrying out a mix of operating and consulting duties. You will be responsible for managing your own case load and dealing with your routine surgeries/appointments. This would be an ideal position for someone looking to develop their surgical independence and have experience of running their own branch/team with the support of an experienced management team.
If full time you will work 40 hours a week across 4.5 days, between the hours of 9am-6pm. You will be expected to work 1:4 Saturdays at the RCVS approved hospital alongside other vets. No out of hours work as Vets Now provide cover. We are happy to consider part time applications for the right candidate.
Salary for this role is up to £55,000 depending on experience. We are able to offer a relocation allowance of up to £5000 along with a welcome bonus of up to £1500!
Southport and Hesketh Bank are two self-contained branches; Southport has operating facilities and laboratory facilities. It works very closely in conjunction with Cats Protection and the RSPCA too. Altogether we have 19 branches spanning across Lancashire. We have a mix of consulting only branches, surgical sites, ECC/ referral hospital and a rehabilitation unit on site. We have on site CT scanner, digital/ dental radiography, Ultrasound scanner at most surgical branches, on site lab facilities at all surgical branches, microscopes for cytology. The rehab unit has Pool, treadmill and K laser. Our team is made up of 26 Vets, 15 RVNs and multiple support team members. We have Cert holders in Dermatology, Ophthalmology, Surgery and Internal Medicine as well as a Vet working towards her Dental certificate, ECC cert and a Vet with an interest in Cardiology. Any Vet joining us will get full support but ideally, we do also need people that are happy sole charge for some of the time for consulting. We have systems in place to support new graduates though and are happy to help develop their skills. We actively encourage study for certificates and are keen to develop referral work within the practice.
MRCVS; ideally happy doing most routine procedures: dentals, lumpectomies and neuters without support.
