We have an amazing opportunity for a Lead Veterinary Surgeon to our client at their Merthyr Tydfil practice. This role offers the chance to run your practice with clinical freedom while receiving full support.
The recently refurbished practice features three consultation rooms, a large prep room, a theatre, and an imaging suite. It is equipped with a new x-ray machine, dental x-ray, a high-quality ultrasound machine, and on-site lab facilities. The practice also boasts a large client and staff car park.
As the Lead Veterinary Surgeon, you will lead a team of 3 vets, 6 nurses, and 4 receptionists. This is a busy branch with a variety of cases. Merthyr offers great local amenities and is close to the beautiful Brecon Beacons for your downtime.
Salary: £75,000 to £85,000 per year
Role Accountabilities:
- Deliver exceptional clinical care during consultations and procedures.
- Provide clear updates and care to clients.
- Maintain high standards of regulatory, practice, and operational compliance.
- Prepare accurate estimates for clients and ensure payment.
- Work with the Practice Manager to maximise commercial performance.
- Mentor and develop your team, enhancing their skills.
- Inspire your team with evolving practice standards and processes.
- Complete clinical handover and arrange transfer of patients needing out-of-hours care.
Your Skills and Experience:
- RCVS registered Veterinary Surgeon.
- Demonstrated clinical leadership skills.
- Experienced in delivering exceptional care to patients and clients.
- Understanding of exceptional care and its impact on client experience.
- Experience in fostering a progressive clinical culture.
- Proven ability to deliver strong commercial performance.
- Effective teamwork skills.
- Coaching and influencing skills to maximise team potential.
