With over 140 clinics+ across Australia and New Zealand, the VetsAbroad program with VetPartners ANZ offers many options for UK Vets looking to work and explore any region of Australia and New Zealand.
Our unique VetsAbroad Program is designed to make building a flexible working itinerary easy, allowing you time to enjoy life, travel, and enhance your working career. Work options can be a minimum 12 months working a 38 hour week (similar to a locum arrangement) and you are free to extend for any length of time, including permanent! Because we are an Approved Immigration Sponsor, we are given higher priority with visa processing and can you can bet that we will be supporting you through this sometime complex process!

Providing relocation advice and visa process for you: We provide access to Immigration resources and expertise submitting your application to Australian and New Zealand immigration standards for a stress-free visa handling process
Career coaching and finding the best position for you: A dedicated recruitment person will be there to guide you through different work options depending on where you would like to reside or visit, for any given time and liaising with clinics on your behalf. Then, we line up your work for you!
Securing initial accommodation and car rental: You can move straight in to a temporary, fully furnished rental and car transport if appropriate
Flights: we cover your international flight to Australia, and if appropriate, your domestic flights as well between jobs
Connecting you to local bank and amenities
What is working as a Vet in Australia like?
Generally speaking, most clinics operate on 15-20min consultations, allowing time to build rapport with clients.
Having a lunch break is apart of our award!
VetPartners prioritises the health and wellbeing of our colleagues, so all employees also have access to the company Employee Assistance program which includes free sessions with a qualified counsellor.
Standards of care are similar to the UK, and we have Certificate 4 qualified veterinary nurses to support the veterinary teams.

As a veterinarian in a VetPartners clinic, you can practice medicine to high standards of care in our well equipped hospitals, have access to Continuing Professional Development opportunities to grow new clinical skills, many of which are heavily subsidised or free, become a part of a large network of vets across the country, and have time left over to spend with you new friends!
We have Small animal & Mixed General practice, Specialist Referral/ECC practices to consider.
Our Salaries are above award, we pay an additional 9.5% superannuation (which can be claimed upon leaving the country), and you have a glorious 5 weeks of annual leave that is PAID.
If you have additional holidays planned, you can apply for periods of unpaid leave in advance, so long as it is in between each arranged block of work, giving you flexibility without compromising financial/job security.
To be considered for VetsAbroad?
You must hold a degree recognised by the Australasian Veterinary Board Council avbc.asn.au
Have a minimum of 12 months work experience, the more the better!
A desired to work and travel around Australia and or New Zealand for a minimum of 12 months
