Veterinary Surgeon Required At Swaffham Vets

Here at Swaffham Vets, we are looking for a dedicated Veterinary Surgeon to join our small animal practice. The role will involve a mixture of consulting and operating. The successful candidate will be expected to manage their own caseload with a team of highly experienced colleagues to offer support when needed. We are a busy practice with a very varied caseload so this position would suit a new graduate that wants to gain experience or an experienced Vet that may want to complete a certificate.
The rota involves working a 4-day week, 33.5 hours. The shifts are from 8.30 -5pm, 10am - 6.30pm, 8.30am - 6.30pm. Our out-of-hours rota is currently 1:6 shared with a team of 9 Registered Veterinary Nurses and 2 Student Veterinary Nurses.
Swaffham is a quiet market town equally distanced between Norwich and Cambridge with the added benefit of being near a mainline station with direct links to London. We are half an hour away from the beautiful Norfolk coast and fabulous walks in the Sandringham estate.
We are a small animal practice with a varied caseload. We have a great team of 6 Veterinary Surgeons, 9 Registered Veterinary Nurses, 2 Student Veterinary Nurses, 1 Kennel Assistant and 3 Receptionists.
We currently have 4 consultation rooms, 1 bereavement room, a very large preperation room with full lab equipment, incubator, grooming bath, dental facilities, endoscopy, a large theatre with capnography, and Oxygen concentrators. We also have separate dog, cat, and isolation wards.

We would like someone that wants to be a part of a close team but that can also bring new ideas to the practice to help us grow. The successful candidate will preferably have two years’ experience but we will consider less and a new graduate if it is the right person
