The Role
Swaffham Vets have an excellent opportunity for a Veterinary Surgeon to join their friendly and supportive team.
You will cover a range of duties including consulting and operating, with the support of our very experienced team of Registered Veterinary Nurses, as well as a surgical certificate holder. As a practice we foster a positive, welcoming, and supportive environment, making this role perfect for a recent graduate wanting to find their feet in the veterinary world!
You will work approximately 33.5 hours per week across 4 days, with shifts between 8:30am- 17:00pm. There is a 1:6 on-call rota weekend rota, Friday evening from 18:30pm you would be on call for emergencies only. Saturday Morning is for short surgeries with shifts between 9:00am-12:00pm and Sunday back to being on call for emergencies only.
Salary
The salary for this position is up to £55,000 per annum depending on experience.
About Us
We are a busy, small-animal practice dedicated to providing the best possible first opinion care for the pets of Swaffham and surrounding areas. Swaffham is ideally placed for a short drive to either Cambridge or Norwich and the nearby station at Downham Market has fast trains to London if the city life is for you. However, a twenty-minute drive north will take you to the beautiful North Norfolk coast if you are looking for somewhere more peaceful.
We are lucky to have built a fantastic reputation in the community by going that extra mile for our patients. We have all the usual facilities, digital x-ray, ultrasound, dental equipment, etc plus an extremely spacious building to house it all in.
About the Team and Culture
We are a 6 Vet practice with an excellent support team made up of 9 Registered Veterinary Nurses, 2 student Veterinary Nurses, 3 receptionists, and 1 kennel assistant. One of our Senior Vets holds a surgical certificate, and our Lead Vet holds a Veterinary business certificate. We are a very close-knit team and actively encourage case discussion across the practice, there will always be someone to lend a helping hand should you need support. We work closely with an independent rescue centre, fundraising and collecting donated food for the many rescue animals that live there. We offer every member of our team a day off each year to work at a charity of their choice, or a cause close to their heart.
Applicant Requirements
We are fortunate to accept all levels of experience, from an experienced Vet to a newly graduated vet, but you must be RCVS registered. You will be willing and open to learning from an experienced team where required and have a friendly manner. The most important aspect is that you will put client care at the heart of everything you do and always aim to give a stellar service.
