OOH Veterinary Surgeon Required At Swift Referrals, Wetherby, North Yorkshire.
Wetherby, North Yorkshire, United KingdomThe Role
Due to our expansion and busy caseload, we are looking for an additional Night Veterinary Surgeon to join our team. We are expanding into the building next door to open an emergency and critical care centre (estimated opening summer 2021). The role would include out of hours cover for Swift Referrals as well as local first opinion practices, therefore providing a variety of interesting cases. Duties would include care and management of in-patients, morning and evening rounds with the nursing team and full clinical examinations, client communication and coordination of cases with the referral clinicians. The triage and stabilisation of emergency and critical cases potentially requiring constant monitoring, surgical emergencies and performing CT and MRI scans (training will be provided if required) will also be part of the role. The rotation of the cover would be 7 nights on and 14 nights off.
We are a specialist veterinary referral centre, near Wetherby. We are multidisciplinary, offering Soft Tissue, Orthopaedics, Neurology, Internal Medicine and Advanced Imaging (CT/MRI on site). We strive for excellent customer service and clinical standards, as well as providing a friendly working environment with a great team ethos.
All levels of experience would be considered for this post, but a keen interest in emergency, critical care work and soft tissue surgery are essential. Our main focus is to find someone who will fit in with our team and who also provides exceptional high standards of care for the patients. This position offers the opportunity to work alongside experts in their field (Certificate holders and Diplomats) using state of the art equipment.
