Various Vet Roles Available In Somerset – Farm, Small And Equine Positions

Jenna’s client is recruiting for a Farm Vet, Small Animal Vet and Equine Vet. All roles starting as soon as possible with some flexibility.
Farm Animal Role:
You will be working as part of a 6-Vet team with support from 2 TB Testers and 3 VCAs. The practice is 95% dairy with some beef, sheep and small holder work. The practice is well-equipped with the usual equipment and excellent in-house facilities to complement ambulatory work. You will be covering a mixture of routine fertility visits, consultancy, etc.
You will be working full time, 4.5 days per week, shifts 8,30am – 6.30pm. There is also an out of hours rota, 1:6 weeknights and weekends.
The practice is well-established and has a varied and interesting caseload. They also offer a great work / life balance, with trained Mental Health First Aiders, etc. They have a dedicated team and hold regular meetings to encourage good communication.
Candidates must have knowledge of the dairy industry, be able to communicate clearly and have great client skills. There must also be the ambition to develop further and to manage the department.
Small Animal Role:
You will be working as part of a dedicated 5-Vet team with the support of 7 professional Vet Nurses. You will be covering 15 minute consultations and will undertake routine surgical procedures. The practice is well-equipped with in-house diagnostic facilities, a fully equipped operating theatre, dental suite, etc.
This is a full time position working 4 days per week, 8.30am 0 6.30pm with a 1 in 10 weeknights and weekend out of hours rota.
The practice offers a great work / life balance, within a purpose built practice. Candidates are encouraged to educate clients on preventative healthcare. They are also encouraged to develop individual clinical skills and interests.
Ideally candidates will have a surgical bias and be keen to develop into a future Clinical Director through support and training.
This is an ambulatory role with purpose built facilities to work up cases. A cross section of horses and range of veterinary skills. Reproduction, lameness as well as the usual routine work.
This role is full time working 4.5 days per week, shifts 8.30am – 6.30pm. There is also a 1 in 6 out of hours rota working weeknights and weekends.
The practice has been established for over 100 years and have a strong foundation.
You will use a large depth of knowledge providing solutions, treatments and advise on how to deal with each case.
Candidates must have an understanding of the commitment for horses, time, finances, etc.
