Newport, South Wales, United KingdomVet needed for fun and supportive clinic in South Wales
Do you enjoy being a GP vet, but are getting bogged down in the long hours and endless working weeks? We can help! No really. We can.
Are you looking for a position where you can demonstrate and utilise your knowledge and skills whilst still getting ample time to yourself to enjoy the things that you like to do - baking, swimming or spending time with your family?
Are you tired or burnt out from working long days followed by nights on call or OOH duties?
Do you crave being able to help clients to care for their pets at an affordable price, but still give a high standard of care?
Are you an outgoing bubbly character that is willing to have a laugh with your colleagues?
Can you bring support to a team, and be willing to use your clinical skills (at whatever level they may be) to support your colleagues?
Budget Vets was first established over 10 years ago in a small building in the heart of Newport as a vaccination only clinic offering care to pets at a low cost. As time passed, the demand for first opinion consultations and preventative healthcare was key in helping us to develop and drive the practice forward. We now boast 6 branches across the South Wales region offering first opinion consultations, preventative healthcare such as neutering and parasite control, orthopaedics and complex medical cases, dedicated exotic clinic with a certificate holder in exotic medicine having a great and loyal client base!
We are looking for a confident energetic character that will bring culture and value to our team! You will ideally need to bring at least one years’ experience in general practice, be confident in routine surgery and first opinion medicine, (though we would be more than willing to support a less able candidate if they were the right fit for the team). We need someone who will bring laughter, care and loyalty to our work family, and be someone who will understand our values and ethics, understanding clients and helping them do the right thing for their pet.
We have clinical guidelines; however, these are not set rules and flexibility is key. Clinical decisions are made by you with the support of excellent vets and qualified nurses if needed. You are looking to work 40 hours per week over 4 days which will help you to have that little more time to yourself and enjoy being you! You will be willing to work 1:4 Saturdays which are shorter days to bring a great balance of medicine/surgery. Unusually, we give time back in lieu if emergencies come in at the end of the day, and we pay your RCVS fees whilst providing a generous CPD budget and benefits package including private health care and pension! What’s not to like?
Our passion is to offer excellent standards of care at a competitive price, we bring joy to the pets and clients we can help, whilst providing affordable veterinary care for all! Our focus is to care for the pets and offer an outstanding service to our clients.
Our practices are fully equipped with all the latest gadgets needed to offer an excellent first opinion service, including brand new ultrasound machines and Idexx labs, digital radiography, capnography, ECG, tonometer and much more! We value and support our teams and have two excellent Clinical Directors who are always on hand to help you through a challenging case or a busy day, offering clinical guidance and support every step of the way. We are half way through the process of having all our practices transformed in to high spec clinics as part of our jaw-dropping renovation project. We believe in providing the right environment for pets in our care, as well as providing an area for your valuable down-time.
If you’ve answered yes and are drawn in by this exciting opportunity, get in touch! Our friendly and approachable management team will be delighted to hear from you!
