The role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Veterinary Surgeon to join our team at Aston Clinton in Buckinghamshire!
Aston Clinton have a exotics caseload of up to 50%. We welcome candidates with an interest in exotics but still confident with basic routine surgery for our small animal cases.
Aston Clinton is a VN training centre with a friendly team made up of 5 vets, 7 nurses and 5 receptionists. We work to a 4-day week with only one working weekend in five, and two long weekends off in five. No on-call.
Full time salary package up to £55,000 per annum depending on experience to include:
- 5 weeks' annual leave plus bank holidays
- 4 weeks' paid sabbatical (after each 5 years of service)

This role works to our 4-day week with 1:4 weekends.
We also offer relocation allowances should you move more than 50 miles from your current home address.
We can also support Certificates of Sponsorship for a Tier 2 (General) Visa if you meet the criteria and are eligible to register as a veterinary surgeon with the RCVS upon arrival in the UK.

Skills and experience
The ideal candidate will have an excellent work ethic and a friendly understanding attitude towards clients, as client interaction and communication is key.
The ability to work without the need for supervision is important as sole charge is required at the weekends, although plenty of support is available during the week from our experienced team to help develop skills and knowledge.

The practice is situated in pleasant countryside not too far from London and the airports at Luton and Heathrow.
The practice is excellently equipped including 3 theatre suites, dental suite, digital x-ray, ultrasound, in-house laboratory, endoscopy and separate dog and cat wards. We also have our own boarding kennels, cattery and dog grooming parlour on site which makes for an interesting place to work.

Aston Clinton feeds into our Watford 24-hr hospital. Here, will also have access to diagnostic ultrasound, endoscopy, CT, dental X-ray and a full orthopaedic theatre. Our seven hospital vets are always on hand to help you work up tricky cases and provide advanced surgical procedures for your patients. You are welcome to come along and assist, or learn how to perform these procedures yourself.
