The PDSA is a special organisation that provides expert veterinary care for people across the UK who otherwise would not be able to afford to treat their pets.
The role is available as either full time, 37.5 hours per week or part time, 15 hours per week. The size of the team allows for a flexible approach to weekend rotas and the weekend day-times are shared by vets on a rota basis, with enhanced pay and stand down time in the week when a weekend is worked. There is no on-call and our OOH service is covered by an OOH provider from 7pm (6pm at weekends).
The PDSA are looking for a qualified Vet who enjoys a wide variety of medical and surgical cases. The majority of patients are sick or injured, however some preventative healthcare is provided too.
The work is fast-paced and challenging, therefore candidates must be hardworking and proactive.
The Pet Hospitals are modern and well-equipped and include separate dog and cat kennelling facilities, in-house radiography, ultrasound, endoscopy, piped gases and extensive orthopaedic equipment.
