MAJOR REFERRAL VET HOSPITAL IN £2m EXPANSION

A leading referral vets has unveiled plans for a major £2 million expansion of its Surrey hospital.
Contractors are set to begin work at North Downs Specialist Referrals (NDSR) Hospital, in Bletchingley, this month, in a project which will see the practice site expand by up to 25 per cent.
Due to be completed in the summer, the expansion of NDSR, which is part of the Linnaeus Group, will see added consultation rooms, extra theatre and procedure rooms, more kennels, new staff facilities and extended vet space, along with a new meeting room.
The work will also see a central imaging suite created, comprising new state-of-the-art MRI and CT scanners, as part of a major investment which will see NDSR continue to offer a dedicated, specialist-level imaging service.
As work to expand its multi-disciplinary practice begins, a further investment will be made to continue recruiting more high-calibre specialists to add to its current 21 specialists in areas such as neurology, ophthalmology and diagnostic imaging, while also increasing its number of nurses and support staff.
Terry Emmerson, hospital director at NDSR, said: “We’re certainly entering an exciting time at NDSR. We have now appointed contractors to begin work on a major expansion of the hospital site in January, with the aim of it being fully operational by the summer.
“The expansion will create a dedicated imaging suite, while also creating extra room for a number of our other services. In line with the building extension, we will also be looking to add to our team numbers over the coming months.”
