Overview: I am a dual British and South African citizen who obtained my degree in Veterinary Science (BVSc) from the University of Pretoria in 2008. I find most joy and fulfilment by adding value. Therefor I look for any opportunity in any day to make a difference. I work well in a team environment and I take great enjoyment in imparting knowledge and help staff grow wherever I can. I also love to learn from peers. I see myself as a very dedicated, enthusiastic and hard working person. I always aim to build onto my existing knowledge and skills to stay as current as possible in whatever work capacity I find myself in . I have focussed on small animal surgery as this soon after qualifying became my passion. I have successfully completed both the 2 year programmes of, Postgraduate Certificate in Small Animal Surgery (PgCertSAS) through Harper Adams Unversity, as well as the General Practitioners Certificate in Small Animal Surgery (GPCertSAS) through the School of European PostGraduate Studies (ESVPS). This allowed me to be entered into the RCVS register as an Advanced Practitioner in Small Animal Surgery, CertAVP(SAS). After working for more than a decade in small animal practice, it has become clear to me over the last 2 or so years that I need to take a step out of general practice to assume a different role that will allow me to add more value, and bring more fulfilment in my own life. My family means everything to me and is ultimately my motivation. I have a passion for adding value and making a difference in whatever capacity presents itself. I have a passion for surgery and the potential results achievable through treating surgical conditions. I enjoy an active lifestyle. I have played rugby since school until my final year at University. I enjoy going to gym and working out by whatever means are available. I thoroughly enjoy the outdoors and nature and all the activities that go with it. I love traveling, seeing beautiful places and meeting new people

I find greatest fulfilment by adding value and imparting any knowledge. Having part-owned a very successful small animal practice from 2011 - 2017 I have done extensive research and gained valuable experience in what is required for success in practice. I have a passion for teaching. Especially newer graduates (but not only) on the topics that would invariably not be covered in University modules. The things you learn 'on the ground'. Helping with consulting technique, being efficient and proficient with time, knowing that clients are the 'lifeblood' of any clinic and as such always look out for those moments to go the extra mile and make a difference- the ability to recognise them. Having extensive surgical experience I love teaching surgical technique, especially to establish good basic skills, and from there even to the more advanced such as orthopaedics for those who may be interested. I also enjoy the constructive improvement that clinical auditing can bring to individual staff members
