Overview: To Whom it may Concern,Since graduating last Summer, I have been working for the PDSA at their 24-hourhospital in Brighton. My time has been split between consulting, surgery and providing out-of-hours (OOH) inpatient, emergency and critical care. The busy hospital environment and high patient turnover has provided a varied caseload and allowed me to upskill quickly and complete my Personal Development Plan (PDP).I have grown confident in my approach to routine soft-tissue surgery including: neutering of canines, felines and lagomorphs, pyometras, lumpectomies, mammectomies, stitch-ups and enterotomies/ectomies, and using diagnostic imaging modalities.Being in sole charge during OOH has facilitated my experience triaging and managing medically unstable patients, as well as dealing with cases of trauma and dystocia. The fast-paced environment has challenged me to develop my organisational skills and I am a strong communicator, friendly and have a positive attitude so work well alongside others. Whilst comfortable managing my own caseload and working independently within my scope of practice, I will seek support from more experienced clinicians when necessary and respond well to feedback.Due to COVID-19 I have recently been furloughed and dont expect to be required again before my contract with the PDSA runs out, as a result I am now seeking locum work and willing to move location.Yours Sincerely, Kerrie Lovett
