Overview: I began my career as a Buying Administration Assistant at Urban Outfitters head office over 5 years ago. My most valued experience is the fantastic relationships I formed with clients and the different areas of the company. I have worked with larger scale brands, but also small start-up suppliers and own label agencies, adapting my different skills, processes, and strategies to suit the needs of who I was working with. My main responsibility was to support my team, through all administrative, sample handling and problem-solving needs, as well as client management as the main point of contact for the Menswear team. Additionally, I began my understanding of a creative business, through negotiation of margin and minimums, range planning, design, project management, intake mapping and developing business models in set time frames to achieve profits, and generally nourishing financial growth for both parties.

I then moved over to ASOS to further my progression into a Senior Administration Assistant role, where I have gained a new technological experience, being an online retailer. I have developed product with a range of brands over the years, formulated buying plans, and assisted with financial guidance to ensure profitability. I worked with every side of the business, ensuring the smooth running of my department, through weekly meetings, and generally support my management, as well as managing our three junior assistants on my team, ensuring they are thriving in a comfortable and healthy environment. I have strong organisation skills; a general must when managing the progression of multi-million pound brands, and I have skills in Microsoft platforms, particularly in PowerPoint due to the numerous weekly presentations, and Excel, to collate all my data and forecast business plans. Communication is a necessity in building relationships with peers and clients. I am a firm believer in team ethics, and I am a certified ‘people person’. Whether on the phone or face to face, I maintain professionalism, whilst ensuring the person is comfortable and listened to, so a great collaboration can be formed. I am also a strong individual worker, but worked closely with all aspects of the business, from our Merchandisers to our Photographers and Shoot Coordinators.
At the start of this year I began project managing the small clothing brand, RUFNEK, for its 2020 capsule launch. This was a new role for me, however the skills I gained through my previous experiences were transferable, and the launch was a huge success. I managed the project from start to finish, changing the strategy in April to a charity lead collection, with all profits being donated to the NHS. Within a team of five, I managed the costs, overlooked and approved the designs, formulated the business plan, set up the donations and handled the social marketing.
I am also volunteering for CHIPS, a south London based organisation to help families in crisis in the pandemic. I sought out and organise any and every aid to help them survive better during this critical time through contacting organisations for donations and encouraging groups and businesses to help those in need. I also mentor young people who are finding life hard to navigate through this charity, giving me a different set of skills of management, team work and hard work I haven't experienced before.
I have worked as a creative business assistant in many different roles for numerous years and can adapt quickly to any new challenge. I believe the skills I currently hold are similar and interchangeable to your role - and I am eager to experience a new challenge, particularly at your fantastic company.
