Overview: I am a very hardworking, dedicated and enthusiastic individual who always strives for high quality and efficiency in my work. I have worked in the childcare industry for 6 years, where I have worked my way up from practitioner to a joint management position; this has provided me with ample experience of leading and being part of a big team in a high pressure and fast paced environment. I am able to adhere to strict policies and procedures; maintain high hygiene standards; am able to work independently whilst using my initiative, as well as part of a team; use excellent communication skills both with my team and the families that use the service; have observation, assessment and planning skills; and am highly adaptable to most situations that arise. I have an incredible work ethic and thoroughly enjoy being involved in practical tasks. I have excellent computer skills and am familiar with all of your usual office applications (word, excel etc), and am very confident with dealing with customers both face-to-face and over the phone. Through my roles in management positions, I have had to deal with people who have been exhibited a whole range of emotions, and have been able to develop my resilience and ability to deal with these situations in a calm, positive and productive manner. Although I have no professional experience working within the animal care/husbandry sector, I have always been interested in this type of work and am now looking at expanding my horizons into the sector. I have owned and assisted with animals in my personal life - from dogs, to horses, pigs, goats, cats, rabbits and birds, including during vet visits and carrying out care duties (i.e. changing beds, dressing wounds) - and am very comfortable around and handling all sorts of creatures. During the COVID-19 lock down I enrolled in an online Zoology Diploma (Level where I gained the essential basic knowledge to kick-start me into a new career. This course was compiled of 10 Units with an assessment at the end of each - I completed this in July 2020 with Distinction. I am also currently undertaking a Veterinary Assistants Diploma, and have completed my first module. I am a keen to learn and do so proficiently, where I endeavour to improve personally, as well as within my professional knowledge and practice. My next goal is to apply for University to complete a degree in Biological Studies, so I believe finding a job within this sector and gaining practical experience would be highly beneficial. I believe I have skills that are both sought after and transferable within the animal care sector and that I could be an asset to any team.Gender: Female
