Overview: I am a student veterinary nurse, studying the level 3 diploma at the College of Animal Welfare in Edinburgh. I am currently on placement at Westport Vets in South Queensferry. My placement is due to finish soon and I am now looking for employment.
I am a mature student with 2 daughters (age 11 and 14). Before I had my family, I worked in the chemical industry for 10 years and I have an Industrial Chemistry degree. 4 years ago, I decided to change career. I love animals and have always had them around me. At the moment, we have a young cat and some chickens. I started training for the Veterinary Nursing level 3 diploma in September 2018, I have passed all my exams, completed my NPL and I have 2 weeks of placement left. I am eligible for December OSCEs , but due to the Covid-19 situation it is unclear whether these will go ahead.
