Overview: My name is Alvaro Almazan Gallardo, I´m a veterinarian from Seville, Spain. I studied at the University of Cordoba (UCO) in which I graduated in September 2019. I’m looking forward to continuing my learning process so that I end up being an excellent coalified vet.

I am a passionate, hard-working young man aiming to be an excellent veterinarian. I have done some research about what you offer in your programme and I think I’d be the ideal candidate since I’m looking for an opportunity to expand my knowledge and get further experience in the field of small animals, especially on the area of soft tissue surgery, orthopedic surgery and image diagnosis, but I do not close the door for learning other specialties such as anesthesia or emergency and critical care.

Throughout my bachelor studies I have been able to combine my studies with extra activities, such as doing some students internship in theuniversitarian veterinary hospital of UCO, working with small animals one year and with horses two more years. I have also done somple placements in differents practices along Andalucia.

Since I graduated, I have been working in a Vets4pets practice in Rustington where I’m employed as a nurse out of hours. In that work i use to take careo f the animal that are hospitalised overnight. I also do the anesthesia during the emeregency surgeries and some weeks during the mornings I go to the practice and I do some consults and some castrations in rabbits and cats.

I want to be a successful vet because I want to help animals, especially those in need, and for that I need to be great. On the long term I would love to start a cooperation with sanctuaries located in underprivilege countries so that my future me and my team could go there and perform surgeries and establish treatments on their animals, helping them with population control, parasites, etc.
