Veterinary design and building company ACD Projects is offering a free review of practice building plans at BSAVA congress to help make sure the end result is totally perfect. ACD Projects founder Alex Darvill says that the company is looking forward to finding out what practice improvements feature most prominently on delegates’ wish-lists, “We’ve had many requests over the years to include eco features, such as solar water heating, rainwater recovery and wind turbines. Sometimes more quirky requests have to be accommodated, such as bone-shaped doors. We’re looking forward to finding out what vets and vet nurses really want from the build and how they think the design of their building affects patient-care and staff satisfaction.”
The company’s design review service at congress has become very popular, offering a chance to have a friendly chat with the experts. Alex has noticed that more people are now seeing the benefits of looking at all the options, “There is increasing awareness of the value of having expert architectural designers experienced in the field look at your drawings, thanks to the likes of celebrity architects like Charlie Luxton and George Clarke. Sometimes we can suggest a few minor changes that really improve how a building functions. We offer the service not to criticise but improve, so we’d welcome anyone to the stand who would just like to see if there are any refinements they might be missing out on.”
Alex says the company has got off to a great start this year, “We’re seeing tremendous enthusiasm for new builds which suggests that vets are feeling really optimistic about the future.”
