Henlow Veterinary Centre has opened its doors to the pets of Bedfordshire and beyond after securing funding from NatWest.

The start-up is the brainchild of Anna Marshall-Brown and Graeme Mason. NatWest is contributing a business and equipment loan of £170,250 of the total figure.

At least four new jobs will be created as a result of the venture. The Lower Stondon practice will offer state-of-the-art veterinary medical technology. The loan is being used to refurbish premises and purchase new equipment.

With many years in practice and qualifications as an advanced practitioner, co-owner Anna will be the main vet. Her business partner Graeme, who has 20 years of industry experience, will take up the role of practice manager at Henlow Veterinary Centre on Bedford Road.

Anna said: “Launching my own veterinary centre is something I have considered for a number of years. When Graeme proposed this business, it felt like it was definitely the right time. Together through this new venture we will help our customers’ pets live long, happy and healthy lives.

“NatWest’s support has been absolutely vital, without it we wouldn’t be able to start-up on our own. We look forward to welcoming our clients and their pets to our brand new full-service practice offering the very best in modern technology.”

George Devasia, Relationship Manager at NatWest, said: “Both Graeme and Anna are incredibly ambitious. They have a strong background in business and veterinary medicine.

“We’re proud to support a business which will benefit the entire community and offer top class health care to animals. They have a compelling business case and we wish them every success in their new venture.”
