Right through from the diagnosis to end of life we investigate the impact cancer can have on a patients’ wellbeing and the owner-companion bond. We will explore ways to assess these patients’ needs and go on to address nutritional demand, identify cancer-pain and improve quality and therefore quantity of life.

In addition to the practical applications within this course, as client education and support is the cornerstone to an honest and patient-focused relationship especially when it comes to animals with chronic illness, the course also discusses specific communication skills to establish and manage expectations. This will help you be prepared to have those difficult discussions, and ensure that your wellbeing is also taken care of.
