We are currently looking for Locum Vet support for an upcoming charity event.
The Muddy Dog Challenge events are 2.5km or 5km obstacle courses that participants tackle with their dogs by their side. The events are organised by Battersea Dogs and Cats home, to raise funds for the charity. We have between 500 and 1,200 participants and their dogs attending each event. However, participants take part in groups of 25 so everyone is spread out throughout the day. We have been running the events for the past 6 years.
We are looking for a vet to attend this event, should there be in any incidents. We have a lot of safety precautions in place, so big incidents are extremely rare, and are usually very small things such as cuts and scratches, thorns in paws, mud in eyes or minor bites. The vets and vet nurse will be based in our event village, with a table and chairs and gazebo. Participants will come over for advice if they are concerned, and if there is an incident out on the course, vets will be transported to the incident via vehicle.
Date: 16th & 17th September
Time: Saturday 09:00 - 16:00 & Sunday 09:00 15:00
Location: Windsor Great Park
They have 809 participants on Saturday and 627 for Sunday.
This is such a lovely event, and the days are usually very quiet for the vets and nurses, and they get to spend the majority of the day enjoying watching participants and their dogs having a nice day out!
