Looking for a locum RVN opportunity without the stress? We are a well established 5* rated boarding cattery on the Bristol/South Gloucestershire border. We are seeking a Seasonal Relief Manager to cover for the owner when she is on leave. This would Periods of cover will vary between 3 -10 days days at a time but we are happy to agree dates that fit in with other commitments, commencing June and finishing the end of October but excluding August. This is a full-time post but job share will also be considered.
Job Description:
Employee Management • Effective management of a small team of staff to achieve the objectives of the business. • Ensure staff levels are maintained. • Daily activity planning to maximise utilisation of the business’ staff and facilities.
Customer Experience • Maximise customer retention rate by delivering exceptional service during every customer interaction. • Ensure that the standards of customer service are consistently delivered across all communication methods.
Administrative • Cash handling and financial record maintenance. • Ad hoc report creation and maintenance.
Operations • Responsible for delivering the highest quality care to all pets cared for by the business. • General cattery duties, including chalet cleaning, preparing meals, cleaning equipment & utensils, administering medication, carrying out and recording health checks and general enrichment activities.
Site maintenance, including cleaning general areas.
Policies and Procedures • Adherence to all legal obligations, including, but not limited to, safety policy, fire equipment, health and safety at work and accident reporting. • Work collaboratively with all employees to deliver a safe working environment, proactively assessing risks within your capability to do so. • To understand and adhere to Local Authority licensing obligations and requirements. • Site security.
Effective communication • Ensure that customers and employees are treated with respect and courtesy. • Promote a culture of professional and proactive communication across all mediums.
Person Summary • A genuine affection for animals and their wellbeing is essential. • Proactive, intelligent, honest and totally reliable. • Brilliant in a customer facing role - approachable, professional and positive. • The ability to understand and adhere to company and regulatory policies and procedures. • Physically fit due to the demands of the role. • Flexible – IMPORTANT: as this is an animal welfare role, a willingness to work additional hours is essential to accommodate last minute bookings and changes to clients travel arrangements. No overnights required but self contained accommodation is available.
