About us
We're building a personalised health and care service for senior dogs (aged 7+) in the UK. At its core: a detailed owner-completed assessment that produces a tailored care plan built on vet-reviewed clinical content — practical guidance covering mobility, cognition, nutrition, pain, dental, behaviour, and what to monitor as a dog ages.
We're guidance-led rather than product-led, with a deliberate focus on the underserved senior life stage. The roadmap extends into vet telehealth access, ongoing membership, and additional services over time, but the assessment-and-plan is the foundation we're getting right first.
We're pre-launch and moving quickly. We're not a vet service and we're not trying to replace one — but we want everything we ship to have been reviewed by someone who really knows their stuff.
What we need
A registered UK small animal vet to provide a focused clinical review of three things:
- Our onboarding health assessment (V1) — a questionnaire completed by owners of dogs aged 7+, covering mobility, cognition, pain, appetite, dental health, behaviour, and more. We need a vet's eye on clinical accuracy, question framing, red-flag triggers, and anything that risks crossing the regulatory line between guidance and diagnosis (Veterinary Surgeons Act 1966 / VMD).
- Our advice content blocks — the modular guidance library that gets assembled into each owner's personalised plan based on their assessment responses. We want clinical sign-off on accuracy, tone, and the boundary between helpful owner guidance and anything that should be deferred to their vet.
- Our initial sample plans — two or three end-to-end personalised plans generated from real assessment scenarios. We want a vet's read on whether the output is clinically sound, appropriately cautious, and genuinely useful to the owner reading it.
Deliverables
- Annotated documents with comments
- A short written summary (1–2 pages) covering clinical accuracy, regulatory positioning, and any red flags
- One 30-minute onboarding call and one debrief call
Ideal background
- MRCVS registered, with at least 5 years small animal practice experience
- Comfortable with geriatric dog health — mobility, CDS/cognitive decline, renal, endocrine, behavioural change
- An interest in preventive care, pet wellness, or pet-tech is a bonus but not required
- Familiarity with the UK regulatory landscape (Veterinary Surgeons Act, VMD guidance on advice vs. diagnosis) helpful
The engagement
This is a focused, paid clinical review with clear deliverables — not an open-ended advisory commitment. We've scoped and budgeted it as discrete work so we can move quickly and you know exactly what you're agreeing to.
- Scope: focused review, ~2 days' work
- Day rate: £700–£900
- Remote
- Immediate start, completing within 2–3 weeks
- Paid via invoice on completion, 14-day terms
If the work goes well and there's mutual interest, we'd be happy to discuss a longer-term clinical advisory relationship — but only if it suits both sides.
We'll share materials under NDA before agreeing to proceed.
