We are working with a well-established hospital in Wiltshire seeking a Locum Vet to join their dedicated ICU and emergency team on an ongoing basis from January.
The Role
This position is focused on the care of hospitalised patients and emergency cases within a busy referral setting. The practice is offering a rota of:
5 Days On | 5 Days Off | 5 Nights On | 10 Nights Off
While this is a combined days and nights role, the practice will also consider vets interested in days only or nights only.
Day Shifts
- 8:00am – 6:00pm
- Based within the ICU
- Managing inpatients and emergency presentations
- Supported by on-site referral clinicians for referral-level cases
Night Shifts
- 8:00pm – 9:00am
- Working alongside a highly competent night nursing team
- Caring for 20-30 inpatients on average
- Managing emergencies from 25 local partner practices
- Referral clinicians available on-call overnight
- Suitable candidates must be confident managing emergency cases and undertaking emergency surgery when required
Requirements
- RCVS registered Veterinary Surgeon
- Strong ECC and inpatient care experience
- Confident managing emergency presentations
- Ability to perform emergency surgical procedures independently overnight (for night role applicants)
